I think some of the information on watering is wrong for some plants. I've noticed for a few different cactus species it will recommend to let the top inch dry out in spring/summer and keep the soil moist in winter. This is drastically different to general cactus/succulent care and I can't find anything online that agrees with this schedule.
An example is Echinopsis Chamaecereus (peanut cactus), but there are other cacti that I've noticed this with as well
The information on this app is usually excellent, so this took me by surprise and has me questioning its reliability now 🙁
Ultimately it doesn't matter for this example because I have general knowledge on cacti care so I know that it's wrong, but for more particular species like alocasia I want correct guidance. Now I'm worried about following the advice on the app
Has anyone else seen incorrect information like this? The feedback form on the app requires you to provide two scientific sources for your profile correction, but I don't have any. I just know that cacti should be kept drier in winter, that's what everyone says and I can't find anything saying otherwise. If there are scientific sources suggesting to keep it moist in winter I'd actually like to read that because it would be interesting, but I can't find it.
